HERMES – EINE HANDY- OPER IN VIER AKTEN

“I’m on the train at the moment. Where are you?“ Now that everyone has a mobile phone, even the most private telephone con- versations are held not only behind closed doors. For years, the artist Karl Heinz Jeron has been annoyed by the senseless phone calls made by his fellow-passengers. A few months ago, he decided to write down the conversations. The texts are being digitised and performed by small, singing robots: four soloists and a choir. The conversations held over the mobile phone illustrate general hu- man situations like secrets, sex, guilt and betrayal. In these four acts, the artist stages the transcribed conversations, transforming these everyday situations into an artistic act.

Here http://ljudmila.org/ will be analyzed.The first 150 search terms are connected to 300 stacked fans. Popular search terms create stronger airflow than less popular. Lightworks is an annual festival of new media in Grimsby, N E Lincolnshire, UK and is run by staff and students from Grimsby Institute’s HE creative courses.
At Lightworks we exhibit sound art, sculpture, installation and film using sites around the inside and outside of Grimsby Minster, as well as other spaces in Grimsby including Abbey Walk Gallery and Gate Gallery..

The event takes place on the last Friday before the clocks change for UK summer time – usually around the middle of March. This year’s date for Lightworks is Friday March 16th 2012 and it will run from 6 – 10pm.
Lightworks welcomes everybody and is free to attend.

Mit Elektronik zum Sound: Elektronische Tonerzeuger aus preiswerten Materialien

Wir sind heutzutage umgeben von Spielekonsolen, Computern und ähnlichem. Ein forschendes Zerlegen und wieder Zusammensetzen ist bei diesen Geräten nicht wirklich sinnvoll möglich. Genau hier setzt der Workshop an. Mit dem Bau eines einfachen elektronischen Musikinstruments wird das Grundprinzip der Tonerzeugung erklärt. Im Workshop wird komplizierte Hochtechnologie auf eine spielerische Ebene herunter gebrochen und ein kreativer Umgang mit Technik vermittelt.

Seine neuen Klangarbeiten nennt Karl Heinz Jeron Soundings. Dabei werden elektrolytische Prozesse für die Tonerzeugung verwendet. Schwerpunkt von Karl Heinz Jerons künstlerischem Interesse sind Phänomene des Alltags. Seine Arbeit ist eine Art Untersuchung und Behandlung von populären sozialen Fragen. Er sammelt Material aus öffentlich zugänglichen Quellen wie Google, Wikipedia oder aus dem Fernsehen. Dieses Material bildet die Grundlage für Performances, Installationen mit kleinen Robotern und Video- und Klangkunst.
